Financial Analyst (Hybrid)

Compensation: $95,000-$105,000
Schedule: Full-time, Hybrid
Reports to: Director of Finance


About the Role

My client, a mission-driven nonprofit organization, is seeking a highly analytical and collaborative Financial Analyst to support budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and strategic analysis across the organization. This role partners closely with the Director of Finance and departmental leaders to deliver timely, data-informed insights that drive operational and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Budgeting

  • Support the annual budgeting process, partnering with department leaders to gather inputs and validate assumptions.
  • Prepare quarterly forecasts and conduct scenario and sensitivity modeling.
  • Maintain and enhance budget templates, planning tools, and reporting dashboards.

Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • Conduct monthly budget-to-actual analyses and identify key drivers of variances.
  • Present financial insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support initiatives, pricing, and investment decisions.
  • Create and distribute internal financial reports and performance scorecards.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Collaborate with Operations, HR, and other teams to understand business trends and drive data-backed improvements.
  • Serve as a strategic finance partner to department leaders, supporting projects and initiatives with financial impact analysis.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Contribute to improvements in financial reporting systems and workflows.
  • Assist with ERP/reporting tool optimization and data integrity efforts (e.g., NetSuite, Abila MIP, NetSuite Analytics Warehouse).
  • Support financial audits, ensure GAAP compliance, and contribute to monthly/quarterly financial presentations and board materials.

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform duties with moderate supervision and increasing autonomy.
  • May mentor junior cross-functional colleagues as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 4-6 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or business analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience with organizational budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Hands-on experience preparing variance analyses and executive-ready reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial modeling.
  • Experience with pricing analysis.
  • Familiarity with ERP/financial systems; strong preference for NetSuite and Abila MIP.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a hybrid environment.
  • High level of accountability, independence, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Prior experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to distill complex financial information into accessible insights.
  • Ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
